Global Prosperity Summit (GPS), initiated by a group of local academic, business and thought leaders, is the first international geopolitical conference in Hong Kong to provide a platform for frank, objective and rational discussions of dominant issues impacting global prosperity. The first GPS was co-organised by the Savantas Policy Institute and Shanghai Institutes for International Studies in 2024.

By leveraging the city’s distinctive advantages of having strong support from the Mainland as well as an extensive international network, the Summit aims to enhance Hong Kong’s roles as a facilitator for dialogue and communication among parties with diverse interests and as an intermediary between Mainland China and the world, under “One Country, Two Systems”.
The inaugural Global Prosperity Summit was successfully held in May 2024 in Hong Kong. Over 250 distinguished thought leaders, including keynote speaker Professor Roger D. Kornberg, the 2006 laureate of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry, participated in fruitful discussions on the dominant issues impacting global prosperity including technology, globalisation, competition in geopolitics and sustainable development. The 2024 Summit was featured in more than 200 pieces of positive news reporting and extensive reporting on social media, reaching readers and audiences from all around the world.

Building on the momentum of its previous iteration, GPS 2025 is poised to deliver an equally, if not more, inspiring and thought-provoking experience, enhanced by new guest speakers, additional co-organising and supporting organisations as well as new strategic global collaborations, further solidifying Hong Kong’s position as the leading international platform for fostering meaningful dialogue.
